12 questions · personal guidance

Could Physio Boxing support me with my current difficulties?

This self-assessment is for guidance only and does not provide a diagnosis. These 12 short questions may help you decide whether to get in touch about Physio Boxing or whether another medical or physiotherapy treatment might be more appropriate first.

There are no right or wrong answers.

Privacy and purpose of the self-assessment

I cannot see your answers. Your answers are processed only within your browser. Neither your answers nor the result shown are sent to me or saved.

Even if you contact me afterwards, your answers and result are not automatically included.

The result is not a diagnosis, medical clearance or an individual treatment recommendation.

Step 1 of 4Movement and symptoms

1. Movement and symptoms

How do your current difficulties affect movement, activity and daily life?

1. I would like to be more physically active, but a lack of drive, low energy or exhaustion makes it difficult to get started.
2. I avoid certain movements or physical activities because I am afraid of pain, overexertion or making things worse.
3. My symptoms have persisted for some time and still affect my activity or daily life, even though they have already been medically assessed.

2. Contributing factors

These questions explore possible interactions. They do not diagnose the cause of your symptoms.

4. I feel that stress, sleep, recovery or my mood influence my symptoms and physical activity.
5. In addition to my physical symptoms, I also experience fatigue, sleep problems or difficulty concentrating.
6. After physical activity, I often need an unusually long time to recover, or my symptoms fluctuate considerably.

3. Possible treatment approach

This section explores whether a therapeutically supported start could suit your situation.

7. I would like a therapeutically supported start in which the level of exertion, movement tasks and breaks can be adapted to my current situation.
8. Have you been diagnosed with a condition or injury for which physical activity has currently been specifically restricted or another targeted treatment has been recommended first?
9. Do you currently have a fever, an acute infection, a recent injury, significant new swelling or severe pain that is rapidly getting worse?

4. Safety

If you answer “Yes” or “Not sure”, a medical or other professional assessment may be appropriate before you begin.

10. Do you currently experience chest pain or pressure on exertion, fainting or near-fainting, unusual shortness of breath, or newly developed strong palpitations?
11. Do you have new neurological symptoms, marked weakness, new numbness, sudden unsteadiness when walking, or bladder or bowel problems?
12. Are you currently experiencing an acute mental health crisis, or do you have specific thoughts of harming yourself?

Your answers are processed only within your browser. They are not saved or sent to me.

Individual sessions or a group?

Depending on your situation, Physio Boxing can take place individually or in a small group. Each format has different strengths, and they can build on one another.

Individual treatment

Individual treatment focuses on your personal situation. Movement tasks, exertion and breaks can be tailored particularly closely to your needs.

This may be useful if your capacity is initially difficult to assess, your symptoms fluctuate considerably or you still feel uncertain about movement. A few individual sessions may also be appropriate if you need an unusually long recovery after physical activity.

Small group

Once movement and exertion can be assessed more confidently, working in a small group may open up new possibilities.

Shared movement, reaction and partner tasks can be motivating and add a social dimension. A group may be especially appealing if you would like to be active alongside people who experience similar difficulties with movement or physical activity.

From individual sessions to a group

Individual and group therapy are not opposites. They can build on one another. Not everyone needs to start in a group.

A few individual sessions can help you understand your capacity, breaks and responses to movement. Once you feel more confident, moving to a small group may be appropriate.

Which format suits me?

You do not need to decide before your first appointment. Together, we can find a starting point that suits your current situation. This decision may change over time.

Please note: This self-assessment is for guidance only. It is not a diagnosis, medical clearance or an individual treatment recommendation. Whether Physio Boxing and a particular treatment format are appropriate for you will be discussed individually in person.

Optional

How physically active are you at the moment?

These two short questions help you estimate how much moderate-intensity physical activity you do in a week.

Moderate intensity means your breathing and heart rate noticeably increase, but you can still hold a conversation.

Your estimated activity0 minutes / week
General reference range: 150–300 minutes/week

It is not only what we do that matters, but also how we do it.

The number of active minutes is only part of the picture. Intensity, complexity and the way movement is experienced also matter.

In Physio Boxing, movement, coordination, attention, reaction and breathing work together.

Tasks can be individually adapted in intensity and complexity. The aim is a level of exertion that is challenging without being overwhelming.

This can create new movement experiences that support body awareness and confidence in your own body, while allowing the body to gradually adapt to new demands.

This check is for guidance only and does not replace an individual medical or physiotherapy assessment.
